Welcome classmates. We have entered all the names of those who went to school with us in Salem.  Some may have moved away before graduation, and some have passed away but we are all reunited on this website.

Randy Decker

Randy Decker, 69, of Hagerstown, Maryland, formerly of Middletown for 25 years, died on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 after a brief but aggressive illness.  He was the loving and devoted husband of Mona Belle Decker of 49 years.


 


Born on July 25, 1950 in Salem, IL, he was the son of the late Earl Lawrence Decker and Mildred Dona (Hower) Decker.


 


Randy earned his Bachelor of Science in Business from Illinois State University after being drafted and serving in the U.S. Army.  He spent his civilian career in sales management roles, always providing for his family.  He proudly raised his children in Middletown Valley, being involved in their various sports activities throughout the years.


 


He found great joy during the latest chapter of his life in both helping raise and support his five grandchildren.  


 


We find comfort knowing he has joined his parents and many siblings in heaven.  We will miss him dearly. 


 


In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Angela Dee Decker of Myersville, MD, Ashleigh Jean Tidd and husband Eric, of Littlestown, PA, and Adam Richard Decker and wife Elise, of Hampstead, MD.  He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Michael Andrew, Nora Belle, Landon Scott, Molly Elizabeth, and Trevor D. Randall.  Additionally, he leaves behind four older brothers, Ron, Dub, Lester and Robert, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.


 


The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main Street, Middletown, with a celebration of life service to begin at noon.


 


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675  woundedwarriorproject.org 





Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Bonnie Dial (Pickett)

Glen Dodson

Comment: Glen Cecil Dodson, 65, of Salem, died on Thursday, April 2, at his son's residence in Arcanum, Ohio.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later time.





Dodson was born on November 3, 1949 in Salem. He married Elizabeth "Libby" Richards Dodson and Rebecca Dodson. 





He lived the majority of his life in Salem, previously in Florida. Glen had retired from Union Pacific Railroad.  A Salem Community High School graduate, he was a Moose member.  Glen loved to hunt, fish and mushroom hunt. 





Survivors include:  a daughter, Christi Tarlton of Salem; sons, Brant Dodson of Arcanum, Ohio, and Michael Storment of Wyomin; step-sons, Trent and Travis Tinnea of Florida; sisters, Phyllis Stephens of Salem, Becky Kerby of Arkansas, Barbara Lowry of Texas, Ladonna Hammond of Odin and Marie Land of Patoka; grandchildren, Ashley Storey of Florida, Robert Dodson of Salem, TJ Wilkins of Salem, Tyler Dodson of Florida, Kaiden Dodson of Virginia, Braden Storment, William Storment and Calen Storment, all of Wyoming; and four great-grandchildren.





He was preceeded in death by his parents, Betty Revell and Cecil Dodson; a sister, Peggy Ochs; and a brother, Robert "Bobby" Dodson. 





Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice.

Mrs. Elizabeth "Libby" Ann (Richards) Dodson of Salem, born Aug. 1, 1950, in Benton to the late Joy Richards and the late Robert Richards, passed away at age 68 Jan. 7, 2019, in Bradenton, Fla.





Elizabeth graduated from Salem Community High School in 1968 and Lincoln Elementary in Benton. She was a legal administrator at Dent and McClain in Sarasota, Fla., until retiring in 2016.





Elizabeth was the beloved wife of Don Howard.





She was preceded in death by her son, Brant Dodson. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Christi Dodson Tarlton and companion Doug Fyke of Salem; stepdaughter Kelly Fields and husband Shaun of Belfast, N.Y.; sisters Bev Heavener and husband David of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Sandy Mikutis and companion Hank Rogers of Sarasota, Fla.; grandchildren Ashley Storey, Robert Dodson, Tyler Dodson, Brianna Fields and Donivan Fields; great-grandchildren Lilly Ann Cobb and Thea Dodson; and two nieces, one nephew, three great-nieces and four great-nephews.





Those who wish may donate in Elizabeth's name to American Cancer Society or Tidewell Hospice of Bradenton. A celebration of life will be private.

Wilford Lynn Donoho

Comment: Marine Pvt. Lynn Donoho, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Donoho, 401 Shelby St., Salem, IL, was killed in action on Sunday, Oct. 5, 1969, in South Vietnam.  Pvt. Donoho died from enemy-inflicted small-arms gunshot wounds to the head, received during a clearing operation.  He had been in Vietnam approximately three weeks. Born in Salem, on July 30, 1948, Pvt. Donoho was a 1968 graduate of Salem Community High School and entered the U. S. Marine Corps shortly after graduation.  He was survived by his parents. James Wilford and Virginia J. (Hayes) Donoho; a grandmother, Mrs. Venise Donoho of Salem; two sisters, Karen and Kay, both at home; and two brothers, Paul Wayne at home, and Dale, a student at West Texas University.  Funeral services were held in Salem, with burial in Paradise Cemetery.
